The Pike & Shot Society enjoyed a good day out at SELWG, Crystal Palace Sports Centre, on 13th October.
The membership stand was supported by Phil Steele’s reconstruction of the Second Battle of Newbury (1644), which attracted interest both as an aid to explaining the narrative of the battle and as a participation game …
The Society stand attracts more interest (and a more enthusiastic welcome from show organisers) when it is able to be supported by a wargame or battlefield display from the history of the period, and is always keen to hear from fellow enthusiasts who would like to put one on at shows the Society attends.
